This memorial web site was created in memory of my son's father, Damon Robert Frost, whose life ended much too soon. He was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, on August 18, 1969. Damon grew up on Cape Cod and graduated from The Cape Cod Regional Vocational Technical High School in Harwich, Massachusetts, with a diploma in Graphic Arts. Damon was an artist and a musician, often playing the guitar for "open mike" nights at various nightclubs in Provincetown, MA. He also enjoyed gourmet cooking, often concocting his own recipes for his family and friends.
He worked as a prep cook and cook for many fine restaurants on Cape Cod and in Boston, MA -- most notably, The Binnacle, Legal Seafoods, and The Grill Fish. In addition, he previously worked at Orleans Carpenters on the Cape, making Shaker boxes. In 2001, Damon was hired as a carpenter by Cape Associate Builders in North Eastham, MA. Damon was someone who loved life. He had many friends and he was loved by everyone who knew him. He enjoyed spending time with his teenage son, Sascha -- in addition to playing both the acoustic and electric guitar, going fishing & camping, watching movies, and laying in the sun, on the beach -- where he spent many of his last days.
Damon enjoyed music and attended many concerts in his lifetime. Some of his favorite groups were: The Damned, Jane's Addiction, Helmet, Modest Mouse, The Ramones, Nick Cave, Frank Black, Pink Floyd, Devo, David Byrne, The Beatles, Sonic Youth, They Might Be Giants, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers -- to name a few.
On February 11, 2004, Damon passed away at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, Massachusetts, after a five-year long battle with Hodgkin's Disease. He is missed by so many of his family and friends. Most of all, we will always remember his big smile. We love you Damon.....
Please light a candle, so I'll know you visited this site......
"I Am From....." by Sascha Frost
I am from sands and deep blue seas, From a hot summer day with a calm breeze. I'm from kite flying in thunderstorms, with all of my friends, From disappointment and anger when those days find their ends.
I'm from late night restaurants and delicious gourmets. From joking that we won't have enough money to pay. I'm from dinners prepared by a lost chef, From amazing meals made by someone who left.
I'm from loud amplifiers and my electric guitar, From rock music played within the red car. I'm from electric pianos and songs played well, From not learning to read music, locking me in a cell.
I'm from baseball and basketball and skateboarding through town, From playing video games on rainy days, when nobody's around. I am from a campground with family and friends, From a brightly blurred place where life never ends.
I am from relatives that live too far away, From seeming like I've been with them no longer than a day. I am from many things that might seem strange, But I'm from Cape Cod and that will never change.
